The programme is organised by the Yuksalish Nationwide Movement in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation of Germany and runs from 27 to 29 October in Tashkent and Bukhara. It brings together more than 20 young politicians, members of parliament, public officials and civil society representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, participants were briefed on Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop tourism, promote the country’s tourism potential internationally, preserve its historical and cultural heritage, and expand economic opportunities across the regions, as well as on the results achieved.
The number of international tourists visiting Uzbekistan increased from 2 million in 2016 to 11.7 million in 2025. In the first nine months of 2026, the country welcomed 10.3 million international visitors, while tourism service exports reached US$5.3 billion. Tourists arrived from more than 200 countries, and citizens of 95 countries are eligible for visa-free entry to Uzbekistan. The number of hotels has increased 2.2-fold. By 2030, Uzbekistan aims to attract more than 20 million tourists annually.
The discussions covered the improvement of tourism infrastructure, the development of new travel routes, support for youth initiatives and increasing tourist flows between Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan. Particular attention was given to opportunities for joint projects based on shared historical and cultural heritage and to strengthening regional cooperation.
The meeting also highlighted reforms being implemented under the leadership of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the development of good-neighbourly relations and regional cooperation based on mutual trust, and the role of young people in these processes.
Held in an open and friendly atmosphere, the meeting provided young leaders with an opportunity to receive answers to their questions directly from the Chairman of the Tourism Committee. The dialogue served as a platform for learning from Uzbekistan’s experience and exchanging views on prospects for further regional cooperation.
