American travel blogger Samantha Russell (@thecolorsofsam) has shared a series of Instagram posts documenting her trip to Uzbekistan with her husband and two children. With more than 240,000 followers, she recommended Uzbekistan as a comfortable and safe destination for family holidays and encouraged other families to visit the country.
According to the blogger, Central Asia had not previously been on her travel list. However, after visiting Uzbekistan, she discovered an extraordinary destination that remains relatively unknown to many travellers. She noted that the country’s Silk Road cities and unique architectural landmarks have yet to receive the global recognition they deserve.
Samantha Russell recommended a 7–10-day itinerary covering Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, suggesting that travellers with more time also include Khiva. She highlighted the convenience of travelling between cities aboard the Afrosiyob high-speed train, even with children.
The blogger dedicated separate posts to the Registan ensemble, the Shah-i-Zinda complex, and Magic City in Tashkent, which she described as an unexpected discovery.
She also shared practical advice for parents, recommending that families plan to visit one or two main attractions per day, bring a baby carrier or lightweight stroller, and consider travelling in April–May or September–October. She emphasised that Uzbekistan is a safe destination for tourists and that the sincere hospitality of local people makes travelling with children even more enjoyable.
Positive experiences shared by prominent travel bloggers highlight Uzbekistan’s growing appeal as a destination for family tourism.
