During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation in developing gastronomic tourism and Uzbekistan’s hospitality industry, as well as opportunities to integrate the national gastronomy sector into the international professional community.

Gault&Millau is a French gastronomic guide founded in 1969 by journalists Henri Gault and Christian Millau. The publication produces the renowned “Yellow Guide” (Guide Jaune), which is considered one of the world’s most authoritative restaurant guides alongside Michelin. Today, the brand is represented in 21 countries, with a database of around 16,000 restaurants, a network of approximately 400 inspectors and an audience of around 20 million followers.

One of the key issues discussed was the possibility of an independent assessment of Uzbekistan’s restaurants and hotels by international Gault&Millau experts. The inspections are expected to be conducted anonymously, with the results and recommendations subsequently published in international and national media outlets.

The parties also discussed the possibility of preparing and publishing a national gastronomic guide to Uzbekistan, comprising 200–250 pages in Uzbek and English, with a print run of 2,500 copies.

Another potential area of cooperation is the creation of a dedicated digital section on Uzbekistan on the international Gault&Millau platform. This would allow national restaurants, hotels and gastronomic products to be presented to a broad international audience.

The implementation of these initiatives would help establish an independent international assessment of the quality of Uzbekistan’s restaurant and hospitality industries, raise the country’s profile as a promising gastronomic destination, strengthen its presence on the global Gault&Millau digital platform and attract additional attention from international tourists, industry professionals and the media.

Following the meeting, both sides expressed interest in developing long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation and agreed to continue working on the coordination of further joint activities and projects.
