Cooperation with VEON on Telecommunications Infrastructure Discussed

Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with Kaan Terzioglu, CEO of VEON, in Samarkand on the sidelines of the C5+1 summit between Central Asian countries and the United States.
The discussions focused on developing Uzbekistan’s telecommunications infrastructure, expanding mobile network coverage, and improving the quality of digital services available to the population.
The parties also exchanged views on the VEON Group’s international experience and its operations in Uzbekistan, as well as prospects for modernizing telecommunications infrastructure, broadening access to internet services, and introducing advanced digital solutions.
In light of the growing demand for digital services in Uzbekistan, the meeting also addressed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in telecommunications and make greater use of modern technological solutions.
The participants discussed further opportunities for collaboration in these areas and agreed to continue the dialogue.
