Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discuss ways to expand legal cooperation

Today, 15 September, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akbar Tashkulov received Rashad Mammadov, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan.
The meeting focused on the current state of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the field of justice and law, further strengthening existing ties, and priority areas for future cooperation.
It was emphasized that the peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are connected by centuries-old shared history, linguistic affinity, spiritual and cultural values, customs and traditions, and that bilateral relations have been developing consistently in recent years on this solid foundation.
The importance of continuing systematic cooperation in digitalization of public services, introduction of modern technologies, and exchange of best practices was also noted within the framework of the 2027–2028 Cooperation Programme signed on 23 August 2026 between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Agency for Citizen Services and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
